Normally we always associate Neil Gaiman with works of fiction, great works that result in great stories or characters that catch our attention. But Neil Gaiman is a great author and that implies the fact that also outside of fiction he can create great works and it seems that has fulfilled it with "The View of cheap seats".
This work that was published at the end of May it is being a success and it is not fiction, although many stories would be fiction if it happened to us.
The cheap seats view is a play where Neil picks up all your experiences from the last 20 years, experiences that imply published articles, how he made great works or that he thought just before publishing and creating the script for the Doctor Who chapter. A compendium of stories, many related to journalism, others to his personal life and others many about how he created his works.
The view of cheap seats collects Neil Gaiman's journalistic works from the last 20 years
In total we have a work that collects a multitude of themes and styles where the reader can learn more about this great writer who once again shows that it is possible to carry out any work without having to be stuck in his characters. Unfortunately this work at the moment we can only read it in English under the title The View from cheap seats, a title in which a mature and thoughtful Neil Gaiman is shown as the cover, indicating the level of depth that the reader will find in the book.
Many of you will think that it is still an autobiography of Neil Gaiman, I thought so at first, but the truth is that so many elements external to the writer are agglutinated but in which the writer himself decides how his journalistic works, published and unpublished , his relationships with other writers, how he created his main works, etc ... that makes the work stops being an autobiography to be an atypical book, Neil Gaiman's own book. I hope that The view of cheap seats will soon reach the language of Cervantes to be able to enjoy his experiences, although I went through the original edition just as before.
