The sonorous fart of Camilo José Cela

On occasions we have referred other anecdotes from Camilo José Cela, the great Galician writer who won the Nobel Prize in his day and left masterpieces of world literature such as La Colmenta.

The funny thing is that they all have a common factor: what profane.

And it is that Cela, both in some passages of her artworks as especially in real life, he was a lover of eschatology who not only did not cut a hair on becoming unpleasant yet funny in some of his speeches but also took pride in telling them.

One of those referred to by the author himself took place in a gal dinnera in which all those present were distinguished figures.

At one point, Cela, who was eating a good binge between her chest and back, blurted out. windiness that echoed throughout the room and the words stopped among the diners who began to look in disbelief towards the area where the writer was sitting without knowing very well who had been the one with the loud fart.

Cela, realizing that the lady on her side was blushing, took the opportunity to hesitate a little, saying aloud: "Don't worry, ma'am, we'll say it was me" ...
