Short story contests against gender violence

Short literature is once again at the service of social awareness with new calls for micro-stories against gender violence that encourage writing to make this reality visible and prevent it.

These initiatives are planned around the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and they share a clear goal: to engage citizens through words, with specific guidelines, deadlines, and prizes to facilitate participation.

THAM Commonwealth: terms, deadlines, and participation

The contest of the THAM Social Services Association It is open to those who live, work, or study in Torrelodones, Hoyo de Manzanares, Alpedrete, and Moralzarzal. There are two different categories: youth (14 to 17 years old) and adults (18 or older). Employees of the organization are not eligible to apply.

The works must be original and unpublished, with a maximum of 100 words (excluding the title). Special consideration will be given to stories that address the overcoming from situations of violence.

The deadline for receiving texts ends on Nov. 5, 2025, 14:00 p.m., so it is advisable not to wait until the last day to submit the micro-story.

To submit the work there are two ways of presentation, with simple but important requirements to meet for ensure anonymity and proper admission:

  • In person: Submit to the records of the Social Services Centers of the Commonwealth (for example, the one located at Av. de la Dehesa 63). The outer envelope must indicate the name of the contest and the category. Inside, the micro-story must be included in paper and digital format, or two printed copies if no file is attached. In addition, an inner envelope must be added with personal data and the signed declaration of acceptance of the bases. Arial format size 12 and double spacing are recommended.
  • Online: email to thamigualdad@mancomunidad-tham.org en PDF, using Arial 12 font. The message must include a pseudonym, the municipality and a contact telephone number.

As for the prizes, there will be recognition for the first position in each category: a smart activity bracelet or similar, with the possibility of replacing it with a set of books or another equivalent item if the winner so prefers. In addition, a high school diploma to the two finalists in each category.

The winning and finalist micro-stories will be made available to the organization, which may reproduce and distribute them citing the authorship when possible, which implies the transfer of certain rights. reproduction rights.

CSIF: fifth competition for its affiliation

The Union CSIF announces its short story contest For Equality and against gender-based violence, aimed at members of legal age and up to date with payments as of October 24, 2025.

A single text per participant is allowed, in Spanish, original and unpublished, with a maximum of 300 words (excluding the title). The theme must focus on equality or gender-based violence.

Submission is made through the form enabled on the CSIF website, where personal data, the title and the story are provided; deadline reception of originals is the 24th October 2025 inclusive. Participation entails full acceptance of the rules.

The jury will be made up of those responsible for the organization's Equality Department. CSIF is authorized to reproduce and spread Micro-stories submitted with a mention of authorship and for non-profit purposes, and the winners agree to the possible publication of their information and images on corporate channels. Awards in the CSIF call for proposals

There are three non-cash awards that the jury may declare void: first prize an 11-inch iPad Air, second prize a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 tablet and third prize a Samsung Galaxy A26 5G smartphone; all of them accompanied by an accreditation certificate.
