Full autumn. The cool is coming and I do a review at latest literary adaptations that have become films y series. I have chosen these four, although there are many more on as many television platforms as there are now. Two can already be seen: Enola Holmes y Patria, and the other two, Rebecca y Muerte en el Nilo, they are released now in October. As you can see, either the cinema and television are running out of ideas or it is always good to make use of so many good literary sources.
Enola Holmes
September 23 - Netflix
Based on the youth book series by The Adventures of Enola Holmes written by the North American author Nancy springer, who also writes science fiction. It arrives in the format of movie about two hours. It tells the story of Enola Holmes, the little sister of the Holmes brothers. Or rather, it is she who tells us in the first person and addressing the viewers directly.
Set in the Victorian england, Mycroft and Sherlock Holmes have left the family home where Enola and her mother live. There, and thanks to her, Enola leads a life full of learning of all kinds, from cultural to martial arts, and absolute freedom of thought as well. But one day his mother disappears and Enola feels abandoned.
Her brothers arrive to take care of her, with a mycroft (the oldest, his tutor and quite unfriendly), who wants to enter Enola in a girls' school, and a Sherlock already with his reputation as a brilliant researcher. But Enola, after finding some clues that her mother has left her and deciphering them, decides to run away to look for her. On the way he meets a young aristocrat, who has also fled from his family, whom he helps to escape from a persecutor. And together they will come to London. There is no lack of more clues to decipher, more dangers and hand-to-hand struggles and the solving the mysteries behind the disappearance of Enola's mother and the threats to young Lord Tewksbury.
With these feminine and feminist touch how much is happening now, the movie is seen. It is entertaining and fulfills what it intends. Maybe they are somewhat blurred the characters of the Holmes brothers, but since the protagonism is of Enola, it is understandable.
Much of the success it may have is due to the cast chosen, with a Millie Bobby Brown which shows why your Eleven of Stranger Things It gave her the charisma that very few young actresses have today. And a Henry Cavill that yields all the packaging of a Sherlock Holmes universal to the character of his little sister. It is completed by great names on the British scene such as Frances de laTour o Helena Bonham Carter.

September 27 - HBO
The now practically classic written by Fernando Aramburu has released this adaptation already. It has not been exempt from controversy in its promotion, as was foreseeable by the subject matter and, above all, by how the television platform has managed to create it.
Company Aitor gabilondo, which now stars two actresses from his other comedy fiction, Down there. Elena Irureta and Miren Gabarain They change their register when playing the two mothers confronted in those hard years of ETA terrorism in the Basque Country.
Aramburu has shown satisfied with the series, according to statements to The vanguard. It stands out for its "very high level in every way" and is very faithful, "not only to the events narrated, but to its atmosphere."
Rebecca
October 21 - Netflix
I continue with two real classics, from the best known and most popular authors of all time: Daphne Du Maurier y Agatha Christie.
From the first comes a review of your Cardigan (the double cc is in English), the immortal story of the cursed marriage of the lord The winter and ill-fated first wife, the Rebecca of the title. And how his ghost will plot about remarrying the naive second woman De Winter brings to his family mansion, Manderley. A ghost that undoubtedly has trapped the soul of the mysterious and haunting Mrs. Danvers, the housekeeper.
The cast heads it Armie Hammer as Maxim de Winter, and who can also be seen in Muerte en el Nilo. The new Mrs. de Winter is L and the already more than consecrated Kristin Scott-Thomas it's Mrs. Danvers. So it might be a good idea to take a look at the version you signed Alfred Hitchcock in 1940, with Lawrence Olivier, Joan Fontaine and Judith Anderson.

I finish with the new version of this title, one of the best known of Agatha Christie. Again with Kenneth Branagh as protagonist and repeating as Hercules Poirot after Murder on the Orient Express. Here Poirot, on vacation on a river cruise, investigates the murder of a rich young heiress. He is accompanied by a cast also varied with Gal Gadot or Annette Benning among others. We can also remember that of Peter Ustinov (1978).
