We start this new month of June speaking with one of the writers with the greatest current projection in the black novel country, louis rosso. The creator of the Madrid inspector Ernesto trevejo, protagonist of his two novels Downpour y Cruel spring, kindly answer us this test of 10 questions. But we also know a little more about work.
Who is Luis Roso?
Roso was born in Moraleja, province of Cáceres in 1988 and has a degree in Hispanic and English Philology. Now work as secondary school teacher in Madrid, but while he was studying he was a waiter and temporary worker in the field. He is passionate about literature, history, cinema and sports (especially boxing).
His fondness for history is reflected in his work by its careful settings. And as a writer he has been compared to Philip Kerr or Eduardo Mendoza for his handling of humor and irony in his novels.

Downpour (2016)
His debut novel is set in 1955 and stars the inspector Ernest Trevejo, of the Madrid Police. It has been produced four crimes in a town in the mountains of Madrid where a reservoir is being built. Two civil guards have been tortured to death and the mayor of the municipality and his wife have been executed in cold blood. Given the possibility that a serial killer is on the loose, the case is entrusted to Trevejo because it must be solved and also silenced as soon as possible.
Cruel spring (2018)
Published in February of this year and after the success of critics and readers of the previous one, this is the second adventure of Inspector Ernesto Trevejo. Again it is set in the Spain of the 50s and in it Trevejo is commissioned to investigate the difficult case of the death of an armed man in El Pardo, very close to the palace where Franco resides. It is not known if he may be a terrorist or a madman, or if he really constitutes a real threat.

Do you remember the first book you read? And the first story you wrote?
My first book was For the child, comic Mortadelo and Filemon. He would be 5 or 6 years old. I don't remember the first story.

What was the first book that struck you and why?
The first I don't remember. I was very shocked Distant star of Bolaño, but already in adolescence.

Who's your favorite writer? You can choose more than one and from all eras.
I do not have any favorites, but some that I like and that I always return to: Borges, monterroso, Ax o Lorca, For example.

What character in a book would you have liked to meet and create?
Sat de The Lord of the Rings.

Any mania when it comes to writing or reading?
Leo almost always lying down in bed or when I travel by train. I write to computer and my only hobby is correct a lot, almost obsessively, once I have the finished manuscript.

And your preferred place and time to do it?
My room. The time is when I have time, usually in the afternoon or morning before I go to work.

What writer or book has influenced your work as an author?
I don't think there are any in particular. There are many who give me things, I suppose many without my knowing it.

Your favorite genres?
Black novel (obviously), novel by twentieth century (thus in general, Spanish and non-Spanish) and biographies.

What are you reading now? And writing?
Reading The man who loved the dogsby Leonardo Padura. I'm writing my fourth novel and fixing my third.

How do you think the publishing scene is for as many authors as there are or want to publish?
There is the saturated panorama: there are too many authors, some of very good quality, who fail to stand out precisely because of excessive competition. But also there are more media than ever to publish: not only large publishers, but also independent ones, or even self-publications on Amazon or other media.
