First Calliope Literary Contest «Letters for the soul» (Chile)

- Contestants must choose to express themselves, one of the following genres:
- Narrative genre, in its expression of Story and Essay.
- Lyrical genre in its expression of poetry.
- For stories: The length of the stories must have a maximum of ten pages, Arial font No. 12, double-spaced letter size.
- For rehearsals: The structure must include prologues, logos and epilogues; The composition must be developed in paragraphs, with a maximum of eight pages, Arial font No. 12, in letter size double-spaced; Bibliography must be incorporated.
- For poetry: The structure and meter of the poem is free; The characters must be in Arial font # 12, letter size double space.
- All jobs, regardless of the gender to which they belong, must be unpublished and not having participated in other contests. They must be written on a typewriter or printed from a computer. In order to encourage classical writing, digital submission will not be accepted. Three separate copies must be attached, placing a pseudonym under the title.
- The authors must attach In a large envelope both the works and a small closed envelope within which you must include your personal data on a sheet: name, 'rut', age, address, telephone number and email.
- The envelopes with the works should be directed to "First Caliope Literary Contest" either by mail to the address Calle Anibal Pinto # 297 - Puerto Montt, or by leaving them personally at the same address from Monday to Friday from 17:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m.
- El receipt deadline of the works is until July 01, inclusive.
- Outside this period, only the works arrived by mail and whose postmark date before the closing period will be received.
- La award It will be held in a public event on Wednesday, July 13 at 20:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the New Acropolis Puerto Montt Cultural Corporation, located at Calle Anibal Pinto # 297 Puerto Montt.
- El jury It will be made up of three specialists in the field, whose identity will be revealed at the time of the award and who do not belong to or have a relationship with our Institution, which will only have one minister of faith. The jurors may declare the contest void in any of the three genres, if they deem it necessary.
- There will a single award for each literary genre, which will consist of books donated by the sponsors: "National Council of Culture and the Arts, Los Lagos Region", "Dibam, Los Lagos Regional Library" and "Libreria Sotavento ... Read in the South" plus $ 100.000 (one hundred thousand pesos ) in cash in each of the genres, anonymously donated. Finally, for both second and third place, a diploma of honor and an incentive award will be awarded to the youngest writer.

Ibero-American Short Story Award Julio Cortázar 2016 (Cuba)

- This award, which has an annual frequency, was conceived as a tribute to the great Argentine writer, one of the greatest in our language, and has the objective of stimulating storytellers from all over the world who write in Spanish.
- The interested must present an unpublished story, with a free theme, that is not committed to any other contest or is in the editorial process. The authors will send three copies of the story, the maximum length of which must not exceed 20 pages typed in two spaces and foliated. The stories will be signed by their authors, who will include their location data. The literary pseudonym is admissible, but in this case it will be essential that you accompany it, in a separate envelope, your personal identification.
- The works must be sent, before July 15 2016 a: Julio Cortázar Ibero-American Short Story Award, Dulce María Loynaz Cultural Center, 19 y E, Vedado, Plaza, Havana, Cuba. Or, to: Julio Cortázar Ibero-American Short Story Award, Casa de las Américas, 3rd, corner to G, Vedado, Plaza, Havana, Cuba.
- El jury It will be made up of prominent storytellers and critics. Its decision will be known in August 2016. A single and indivisible prize will be awarded consisting of 800 euros, the publication of the award-winning story in the literary magazine "La Letra del Escrib", both in its printed and electronic versions, as well as its publication in book form along with the stories that obtain mentions, a volume that will be produced by the Letras Cubanas Publishing House and will be presented at the 2017 Havana International Book Fair. The award ceremony will take place in Havana on August 26, 2016, the anniversary of the birth of Julio Cortázar.

XLI Poetry Contest for the National Prize for Literature "Aurelio Espinosa Pólit" 2016 (Ecuador)

Bases
- You can participate only Ecuadorian writers.
- Those who have won the National Prize for Literature "Aurelio Espinosa Pólit", in some of the calls, in the same genre will not participate in the contest.
- The collection of poems must have a extension enough so that, in case of being the winner, it can be published in book form.
- El Admission period will expire on Friday, July 15 2016, at 17:00 p.m. Only works received at the Directorate of the School of Language and Literature will be accepted until the date and time of the expiration of the admission period, including those sent by public or private mail companies.
- Contestants will follow the following standards: a) They will sign the works with a pseudonym; b) In a separate envelope, closed, the full names, identity card number, address, city, email and telephone number of the participants will be included; c) On the outside of the envelope, which contains these data, only the pseudonym and the title of the work will be entered; d) The works will be presented in three copies, duly bound, typed or typed, double-spaced and on a single page, on A4 size paper, Arial 12 font.
- The sealed envelopes, which contain the names of the authors, will be delivered to a notary public at the time of closing the reception of the works. The opening of the envelope, corresponding to the winner, will be done in the presence of said notary.
- El jury will choose a single work for the National Literature Prize "Aurelio Espinosa Pólit" 2016. The jury may declare the contest void and its decisions will be final. The names of those who constitute the jury will be announced with the verdict, the second week of October 2016.
- The premium It consists of the amount of USD 7.500,00 (seven thousand five hundred American dollars), which will be delivered to the winner in a special ceremony, in commemoration of the founding of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador.
- The PUCE Publications Center will make the first edition of the awarded work; the author will receive 10% of the total number of copies published. Other aspects related to the publication will be subject to what is established in the general regulations of the Center.
- The envelopes corresponding to the non-awarded works will be destroyed in the presence of the notary, immediately after the jury issues the verdict. Copies of non-awarded works will not be returned to their authors and will also be destroyed.

VII National Short Story Contest "Good and Short" (Colombia)

Bases
- All unpublished Colombian writers or who have not published more than one short story or short story book. Any violation of this rule invalidates participation.
- Contestants will submit an unpublished short story, of free theme, maximum 3 pages in length, letter size, signed with pseudonym, in three copies, fully legible, in Arial 12 font, spaced and a half, at calle 14A Nº 3A - 39, Buenavista neighborhood, Montería, Colombia. Stories are not accepted by email. Disordered texts with spelling or typing errors are also not allowed.
- Shipments will be made by normal mail, even if they are local; Personal submissions of stories will not be accepted.
- In a separate envelope, the identification of the pseudonym, the title of the story, the email, the address, the telephone number and a brief biographical note of the participant must go.
- The contest opens on May 31, 2016 and closes on July 19 of the same year. The ruling will be announced on September 10, 2016, during the XXIV Córdoba and Caribbean Literature Festival.
- El jury It will be composed of three people versed in literature and their names will be announced on the day of the promulgation of the ruling. Two prizes will be awarded: first prize: one million pesos ($ 1.000.000); second prize: five hundred thousand pesos ($ 500.000). The awards will be made as soon as the suitability of the texts is verified. The winning stories will be published in the cultural newspaper El Túnel, and will be sent to the national press.
- Unselected texts will be destroyed. No correspondence is maintained on the jury's verdict or its determinations.
- Members of El Túnel may not submit stories to the contest.
