From the 70 La Mancha vintage, I emerged as a reader, writer and film buff. Then she decided to study English philology, teach and translate the Saxon language a little. I have ended up training as a spelling and style checker for publishers, independent authors and communication professionals. I also teach a creative writing workshop. I manage two websites: MDCA - CORRECCIONES (https://mdca-correcciones.jimdosite.com) and MDCA - NOVELS AND STORIES (https://mariola-diaz-cano-arevalo-etrabajora.jimdosite.com) and a blog, MDCA - WHAT'S ABOUT MINE (https://marioladiazcanoarevalo.blogspot.com), where I write about literature, music, television series, cinema and cultural topics in general. With knowledge of editing and layout, I have self-published six novels: "Marie", the historical trilogy "The Wolves and the Star", "In April" and "Captain Lung".
Since my early youth, books have been my constant companions, offering me refuge in their worlds of ink and paper. As an opponent, I have faced challenges and competitions, but I have always found solace and wisdom in literature. Working as an educational instructor, I have had the privilege of guiding young minds toward a love of reading, instilling in them the value of a good book. My literary tastes are eclectic; I delight in both the richness of the classics and the freshness of the new voices that emerge on the literary scene. Each work is a window to a new perspective, a new world, a new adventure. While I recognize the practicality of ebooks and the way they have revolutionized reading, there is something eternally charming about the rustle of a page being turned and the subtle scent of ink on paper. It's a sensory experience that ebooks simply can't replicate. In my literary journey, I have learned that every book has its time and place. A good classic can be a faithful friend in times of reflection, while a literary novelty can be the spark that ignites the imagination. Whatever the format, the important thing is that the story speaks to us, transports us and, ultimately, transforms us.
I am a storyteller, an explorer of worlds both real and imagined. My passion for writing began at a very young age, inspired by the cultural richness and diversity of landscapes that I have had the privilege of experiencing on my travels. As a writer of travel and literature, I have immersed myself in exotic literature, always seeking to capture the essence of each place and each culture in my works. As a fiction author I have published award-winning stories in Spain, Peru and Japan and the book Tales from the Warm Lands. On the path of letters, I continue to learn and grow, always in search of that next story that deserves to be told, that next journey that waits to be written. With every word, with every book, I aspire to leave a lasting mark on the vast world of literature.
As a freelancer and Spanish teacher, my life revolves around words and their power to educate and excite. Although I often feel that time to write is scarce, every moment I spend putting ideas on paper is deeply rewarding. My academic training at the Complutense University of Madrid provided me with a solid foundation in Spanish: Language and Literatures, and my passion for teaching was further strengthened after completing the Master of Spanish as a Second Language. In addition to my dedication to literature, my intellectual curiosity has led me to study Criminology.
I am Ana Lena Rivera, author of the intrigue novel series starring Gracia San Sebastián. The first case of Gracia, Lo que Callan los Muertos, has received the Torrente Ballester Award 2017 and the finalist award of the Fernando Lara Award 2017. I have been passionate about crime fiction since childhood, when I abandoned Mortadelo and Filemón for Poirot and Miss Marple, so after several years as a manager in a large multinational company, I changed the business for my great passion: The crime novel. This is how Gracia San Sebastián was born, the leading researcher in my detective novel series, where normal people, like any of us, can become criminals, even killing when life puts them in a difficult situation. I was born in Asturias, I have a degree in Law and in Business Administration and Management and I have lived in Madrid since my university days. From time to time I need to smell the sea, the Cantabrian Sea, strong, vibrant and dangerous, like the novels I write to you.
I am an engineer with a heart that beats to the rhythm of narratives and a soul that delights in the unexpected twists of plots. My love for literature was ignited by the spark of “The Circle of Fire” by Mariane Curley, a story that taught me to dream in vivid colors and believe in the impossible. Then, “Toxin” by Robin Cook immersed me in the depths of science and suspense, sealing my fate as an eternal seeker of worlds hidden between pages. Fantasy is my refuge, a place where the everyday is intertwined with the magical, and where each book is a door to alternative realities. It doesn't matter if it is Young Adult or aimed at a more adult audience; If there is magic, I am there. But my passion is not limited to fantasy; I am also attracted by the brightness of a screen that tells epic stories, by the frames of a film that captures the human essence, or by the vignettes of a manga that transports us to distant universes. In my literary blog, Libros del Cielo, I share my literary adventures, reviewing each work with the sincerity of someone who considers books as his most faithful travel companions. I invite everyone to join me in this odyssey of words, to explore together the reaches of the imagination.
Since my early childhood, books have been my constant companions. My passion for literature led me to obtain a degree in Hispanic Philology and later, a Master's Degree in Narrative. Now, as an editor specializing in books and literature, my goal is to share that passion with the world. On this blog, you will not only find practical tips and techniques for writing your own novel, but also in-depth and insightful reviews of classic works that have stood the test of time. Every word I write seeks to inspire, educate and entertain readers like you, who value the richness and beauty of written language.
I was born in Barcelona in the last month of the 80's. I graduated in Pedagogy from the UNED, making education my professional way of life. At the same time, I consider myself an "amateur" historian, obsessed with the study of the past and especially of the warlike conflicts of humanity. Hobby, this one, which I combine with reading, collecting books of all kinds and, in general, with literature in all its range of possibilities. As for my literary hobbies I have to say that my favorite book is "The Godfather" by Mario Puzzo, my favorite saga is that of Santiago Posteguillo dedicated to the Punic Wars, my head writer is Arturo Pérez-Reverte and my reference in literature is Don Francisco Gomez de Quevedo.
For as long as I can remember, books have been my most faithful companions. I am an editor specialized in literature, a storyteller through reviews and critiques that seek to unravel the essence of each work. My passion for the written word began in the halls of my hometown library, where each book I devoured prompted me to share my experience with the world.
