Synopsis of the first five Brian Weiss books
Many lives, many masters (1988) - Many lives, many teachers
This work is the bridge where science and metaphysics meet. It is the true story of a psychiatrist, his young patient, and a regressive therapeutic journey that turned their lives upside down. Weiss himself is one of the protagonists. His approach to psychotherapy changed forever when he treated Catherine, who, under hypnosis, recalled several of her past lives.
Through these memories, the young woman and the psychiatrist were able to find the origin of the ills that afflicted Catherine. According to the author in his book, the girl managed to get in touch with spiritual beings, inhabitants of both lives. These entities left him messages of wisdom and healing knowledge. Consequently, it did not take long for this story to become a bestseller, and to be a reference in the psychology transpersonal.
Through time into healing (1993) - Through time
From his second book, Brian Weiss discusses the healing power of past life regression applied to psychiatric therapy. Also, the author tells the real cases of businessmen, therapists, workers, lawyers... People from different social strata who found the origin of their problems in this practice.
Weiss argues that, through these regressions, his patients were also able to recover various talents that they enjoyed in previous lives. The author concludes that the life of the human being is not limited, as we usually think. He affirms that the various incarnations are nothing more than the long road to the immortality of the soul. In addition to the aforementioned, the psychiatrist shares a series of steps that allow a regression to the past to be executed.
Only love is real (1997) - Bonds of love (only love is real)
For Brian Weiss there is no possible cure before healing the heart. The text tells the story of Elizabeth and Pedro. These two young men had never met. Nevertheless, their ailments —including depression, anxiety, and an inability to be happy— they took them to look for help with the same therapist.
Through multiple queries —and always under hypnosis— the doctor soon realized that his patients not only were they linked, but they shared a destiny: they were soul mates. Many psychotherapy sessions were necessary for both young people to recover their best past, heal their traumas and understand that they had to be together so that all the pieces began to fit together.

mirrors of time (2003) - Mirrors of time: the regression of physical, emotional and spiritual healing
The benefits of past life regression go beyond healing trauma from previous existences. About the author, Brian Weiss
Brian Weiss was born in 1944, in New York, United States. In 2002 he worked as a psychiatrist at Bellevue University, in his home state. He also served as director of the psychiatric area at the Mount Sinai hospital, for which he is well known in the circle of medicine and clinical psychiatry. From his paragraphs, the author was very interested in the origin of traumas, and this led him to investigate the regression of past lives.
For Weiss, recalling these dramatic situations through therapy helps heal trauma. This type of practice is very similar to psychoanalysis —area that is falling into disuse because it is considered obsolete—. However, the doctor Weiss claims that the existence of past lives can be corroborated through various facts.
These are some of the most studied: people who remember languages they have never heard or been taught; knowledge of specific details of people and places they have never visited; encounters between subjects who claim to be relatives and know each other perfectly, without having a tangible link in their current life.
