Bernard Torello, Kai47, as he is also known on social networks, was born in 1994 in Barcelona. He was greatly influenced since he was little by the movies of The Lord of the Rings, he immediately began reading the work of JRR Tolkien, until at the age of fourteen he began to write his first fantasy story. He then studied at the University of Barcelona and created a YouTube channel, Kai47, dedicated to talking about fantastic sagas such as Middle Earth, by Tolkien, or harry potter, by JK Rowling. He also shares opinions and reviews on series, movies and video games.
The demon of Arbennios, His first work as an author was a bestseller. - CURRENT LITERATURE: Your first published novel is of the fantasy genre and is titled The demon of Arbennios. What do you tell us about it and where did the idea come from?
BERNARD TORELLÓ: The idea arose from the desire to write a fantasy story that didn't look like Middle Earth de J. R. R. Tolkien. This is a direct novel full of action or, at least, that's how I wanted to present it.
- AL: Can you remember any of your first readings? And the first thing you wrote?
BT: The first book I read was called A penguin in the desert. I don't know how old she was, six or so. Before that my parents had always read me stories and from then on I started reading on my own. The first thing I wrote was when I was 14 years old and it was a Fantasy story in which some teenagers faced an endless number of enemy orcs. It was bloody and action-packed. The truth is that I haven't changed much.
- AL: A leading author? You can choose more than one and from all periods.
BT: JRR Tolkien , Laura Gallego, Brandon Sanderson or Bernard Cornwell.
- AL: What character would you have liked to meet and create?
BT: None specific. Anything I have wanted to create, I have been able to create in my fantasy manuscripts. It's the good (and at the same time the bad) thing about fantasy: that anything is possible.
- AL: Any special habits or habits when it comes to writing or reading?
BT: Always do it while I listen to music. Also, I have to be in a quiet and comfortable place, at home probably... It's not easy for me to concentrate on the subway or the train.
- AL: And your preferred place and time to do it?
BT: At home, leer on the couch or bed, write on my computer of table. The timing doesn't matter to me as long as I know in advance that I have free time ahead of me.
- AL: What other genres do you like?
BT: The historical novel especially. Little apart from that.
Current outlook
- AL: What are you reading now? And writing?
BT: Nothing, neither of them. It's been a while since I read anything new if it's not to inform or document myself. Of write I stopped in December and at the moment I am taking a break.
- AL: How do you think the publishing scene is?
BT: I don't think I know much about the subject, but in general I think that the quality of the books published should be valued more than the amount of sales expected per product.
- AL: How are you handling the current moment we live in?
BT: With a lot of tranquility despite the problems that may surround us. In the end, few affect my daily life. There are certain things that worry me and I do everything I can to change them, but I don't let them steal my sleep either.
