With the arrival of the winter holidays, the Children's and Youth Book Fair It once again positions itself as one of the most outstanding cultural offerings in the City of Buenos Aires for families, children, and young readers. The event is free and open to the public. and represents an opportunity to approach the world of literature in a creative and different way.
El Palacio Libertad , located at Sarmiento 151, will host a gathering from July 16th to August 3rd that combines literary presentations, shows, and participatory activities focused on education and entertainment.
A luxurious opening and programming for all tastes

The official opening will take place on July 18 at 18 p.m. in the Hall of Honor of the Libertad Palace, Involving Maria Teresa Andruetto, a renowned and award-winning writer, who will give the opening address. Andruetto, a Hans Christian Andersen Award winner and Platinum Konex recipient, highlighted the fair's importance as a space where children's literature is showcased through the lens of writing and creativity.
During the event, the public will be able to enjoy a program diverse and designed for all interests, which includes book presentations, illustration and science workshops, storytelling, theater performances and screenings, as well as comic book festivals and activities for teens.
New characters and special awards

One of the great novelties of this edition is the incorporation of three specially designed characters: Lili, Lina and Lolo. The design of these figures is the work of Nehuén Costa, a young illustrator selected through a contest organized during the Buenos Aires International Book Fair. His proposal seeks to invite imagination and active participation of boys and girls, who will be able to create their own characters inspired by Argentine fauna in open workshops during the fair.
As every year, the awards will be given Town Crier Awards, which recognize the work of those who promote children's and young adult literature. The awards will be presented on August 1st in the Hall of Honor, bringing together industry leaders and celebrating the careers of various actors linked to the world of books.
Special activities for professionals, teachers and families
The fair strengthens its role as a space for connecting the educational field and literary creation. More than 180 schools have confirmed their visit, and the program includes exclusive days for education professionals, reading mediators, librarians and editorsThe Professional Conference will be held on July 23rd, focusing on the globalization and dissemination of children's literature, as well as editorial communication strategies.
July 24th and 25th are reserved for teachers and mediators, offering training sessions for all educational levels, healthcare professionals, special education professionals, and community spaces. Registration for all these activities is open through the El Libro Foundation website.
The range of activities also includes narratives in Argentine sign language, science workshops led by the Melquíades Group and meetings with renowned authors and storytellers such as Any González, Nanucuentos, Verónica Álvarez Rivera and Alejandra Alliende.
