September 11, ago 75 years the first adventure of one of the most famous sagas of children's and young people's literature in literature was published. It was that of The Five and the island's treasure. And also, it has also been fulfilled this year the 120 the birth of its creator, the prolific British writer Enid blyton.
Published in more than 90 languages, editions, reissues and adaptations The television of this series of books are innumerable. They have not been exempt from controversy in recent times. But the reasons of its success are still powerful and that is why almost half a million copies are still sold a year.
En The Five and the island's treasure Brothers Julian, Dick, Ana and their cousin Georgina with their dog Tim spend the summer searching for treasures and discovering a thousand and one secrets in the Kirrin island. Thus a friendship will develop that will grow stronger in each new adventure.
Y as they are The five? Well Julian is the greatest and the highest, smart and responsible. Thick maybe it's the most naughty and cheeky, but he's also very kind. Ana, the youngest, takes care of the housework what to do. Y Georgina I want to be like a boy and prefers to be called George. She is also the bravest. Y Team, of course, that is George's dog, just as brave as she and affectionate with everyone.
Reasons why we like them
And we still like them because:
- We learned to read with them. And the new generations continue to do so as well.
- We explore for the first time. In nature, in mysterious places, caves and remote places, abandoned houses with secret passages that hid more than one secret.
- We discover how to love and care for animals. Who did not want to have a dog like tim, tireless companion of adventures?
- We ate all the meat pies of the world, soft bread sandwiches, sandwiches, sarsaparrillas or lemonades.
- There were no elders giving the can with rules, duties or obligations. They only appeared to prepare those rich and abundant snacks or dinners. The Five could do what they wanted without having them behind them. And we felt as free as they. But they also taught us to be responsible for ourselves and learn the consequences that our actions could have.
- The arguments were self-conclusive, but they always had some moral (or moral, in the current context) and always kept the suspense. Of course, the bad guys always lost and the good guys always won. With values to highlight like that friendship, loyalty, effort and collaboration anything was possible.
