Often times, the investment in art is wasted not only due to the lack of sales, but also due to a null management that leads to accumulating precious literary works in dark attics where time and oblivion end up turning them into irretrievable copies.
Something like this has happened in the bowels of the Culture Bureau of the town of Castellón de la Plana, where 61 books by the poet Bernat Artola have been found in fatal condition..
Letters and mold
Bernat Artola Tomás (1904) was an illustrious Valencian poet from the city of Castellón de la Plana whose work was nurtured by a local language and for which he was praised before and after his death in 1958. landscape value nurtured a work in which the Castellón City Council did not hesitate to invest more than 700 thousand euros when it came to disseminating it and making it known to new generations.
However, these copies were never disseminated, being relegated to the rooms of a Culture Office in Castellón de la Plana where the Councilor for Culture, Verónica Ruiz, found a few hours ago the 61 thousand copies of Artola wrapped in dust and mold, which has not only been the discovery of a significant waste, but also further proof of the incompetent management and editing of cultural heritage.
In the words of Ruiz herself "They are full of mold and cannot be read, so we will have to throw them away." Even so, a team of professionals is analyzing all the works so that those that can be saved are sold both from a physical point of the Bureau and through an application that the City Council will acquire in September. The only way to recover the almost 4 thousand euros of losses estimated so far but, above all, to honor the memory of a poet who gave us verses like these:
PERVIURE
Viu, the Poet not above
a viure en l'obra sa sort:
Poetry s'aviva… ..
quan the Poet ja ès mort!
I if the Poet does not matter
life while I saw it,
I felt that la mort el conhorta
yes per son perviu work
What do you think of this "forgetting"?
